Here are answers to some frequently asked questions

 

How long does a carpet cleaning take?

It depends. We can usually clean the carpet in a whole house in about 2 hours. Sometimes we can spend as long as 4 hours on your carpet depending on the size of your space and the amount of dirt and stains.

Do I need to clean my house before your technicians show up?

You do not need to clean, but you will need to pick-up as much as you can, so we can get to your carpet.  We need to clean around and under your furniture and large electronics like televisions and stereos.  Make sure you clean up laundry, loose papers, and kids’ toys so that our technicians will have as easy a time as possible getting your whole carpet clean.  We can usually work around large, heavy pieces of furniture like a piano or a heavy armoire.  We request that you vaccuum the area to be cleaned so that our cleaning process is as effective as possible.

What makes your cleaning chemicals “eco-friendly?”

Our cleaning solutions are tested for a low environmental impact. Our chemicals are free from Butyl compounds that irritate the air, free from water-polluting phosphates, and compliant with clean-air VOC standards.

If I want my upholstered furniture cleaned, should I tell you what it is made of when I call you?

Yes.  Letting us know beforehand what kind of fabric your upholstery is made of will make our job easier and quicker.

Can you clean Berber or Shag carpet?

Yes.

I have an emergency!  How soon can you get here?

We will respond as quickly as we can depending on technician availability and your location.

Can you send a technician at night, after business hours, or on the weekend?

Yes. In most cases, we can accomodate your appointment preferences when we schedule a cleaning.

How long after my carpets have been cleaned will it be safe to walk on them?

Any moisture left in your carpet after a steam extraction cleaning will evaporate after 3 to 7 hours, depending on the season and condition of the carpet.  During this time, it is important to keep children and especially pets off of the carpet.  Avoid walking on the carpet, as dirt on your shoe can penetrate the moist carpet fibers.  If you have to walk on the carpet, we provide plastic shoe covers to ensure your newly cleaned carpet stays clean during the drying period.  Using ceiling fans and opening windows will help moisture evaporate more quickly.

Why is professional cleaning important?

When vacuuming no longer removes all of the soil, or you have not been able to remove spots following the recommended carpet care and cleaning procedures, it’s time to have your carpet cleaned by a trained and qualified professional cleaner. For this reason, we recommend, and most carpet manufacturers’ warranties require, periodic professional cleaning.

How often should my carpet be cleaned?
We recommend professional cleaning at least every 6-12 months.

What should I do to prepare my home for carpet cleaning?
Any furniture you want moved that has breakables on them, such as pictures or crystal, should be cleared. Our policy is that we will move most furniture that can be safely moved. Our technicians will do an inspection before they start cleaning and notify you if there is any furniture that can’t be moved. Also, any small items sitting on the carpets to be cleaned, such as boxes, newspapers, toys and shoes, should be picked up. If there is a lot of debris on the carpet it is recommended that you vacuum first.
